Loved this episode mainly because we got to see Sookie being more than just an empath. We also saw more of Eric's back story and what made him. The King is going to suffer very soon I'd say for Eric's vengence !!!

Tara's face was priceless when she was asked to be a vampire bride! She's going to have to play that one very carefully to get away from Franklin or will she get help from friends!?

I love Franklins character so I hope they don't kill him off too quickly.

What is going on with Sam's family? I'm beginning to think his brother is not entirely innocent here and that the father is actually trying to protect Sam! We'll have to wait and see.

Franklin and Tara are just pure comic gold - he is so mental! He's actually doing the impossible: making Tara less annoying because she has to behave:D

Bill and Lorena - meh! Nothing to keep your concentration up. Bill is a bit of a hard to read character in the series this time: you don't know what's motivating him to try and save Sookie. I think it's actually a disadvantage to have read the books to a certain degree because you know where the characters are meant to go but there's no guarantee that it'll happen that way in the show.

Russell - good to get some more background on him, but it's hard to know what he's up to. You know he wants to acquire Sookie, but you have to question what the ultimate plan is. Like did he just slaughter Eric's family for the craic of it and to get the crown? Is he trying to acquire her because Sophie-Anne wants her? Plus he has to have had someone in Bon Temps/Louisianna to tell him that Bill was even sniffing around up there... Is it all bigger than trying to take over another Kingdom??? Majorly puzzled!!!!

Pam - is she still alive/dead/whatever???? They can't kill her off...

Eric - plotting as usual! He's just brilliant at it: easy to see why since he was previously a king. Flashback was good for us to better know his character and to make us question anything he does in relation to Russell now...
And him and Lorena seem to know each other...

Sookie - why didn't she report back to Eric what she knew about Russell and try to get some info on him? Debbie is so going to kick her ass when she gets a chance!

Jason - again, comic gold! Just a genuinely fun character.

Jessica - her and Tommy eh??? Loved the way she hypnotised that couple into not giving Arlene a tip. I love the way she thinks outside the box: another Pam in the making!

Sam & Family - wtf was up with the dad? Kinda thought he was abusing Tommy or something. More to that situation than meets the eye...

Cannot wait for next week again - the sneak peek looks really juicy!
Bill staking yet another vampire, Eric betraying Sookie, Tara biting Franklin(Surely he hasn't turned her yet?!), Sophie-Anne back in the plotlines...
Wish I could fast forward the week!!!

BTW, did anyone see the painting on the wall in the mansion when Talbot was leading Eric away on the tour: Did it look like LaFayette's love interest, Jesus, in the painting with Russell?

Great episode. Really loving this season so far. Always good to see some flashbacks and history of some characters.

Franklin is so insane that it is great. His crying after Tara tried to escape was brilliant.

I also have been wanting to see Sookie's powers evolve so its good they are going that way.

Am loving this episode! The mystery deepens. I hope Eric can save Pam in time.
Lafayette and Jesus are cute together:)
Franklin and Tara, hah! Tara is petrified and Franklin is so obsessed. I hope she does get turned though.
Sookie showing her powers .. I wonder what she is really though. Just a telepath ?

Franklin is brilliant, really bat **** crazy!

Lots of things happening now.. This is getting interesting!

    I loved this episode!!!
Franklin is so freakin crazy its hilarious. I loved the bit where he's like look how fast I can text.
I hope Pam isn't killed. Is Eric going to kill the vampire king? Ohhh can't wait for next weeks episode.

Franklin is a great character. The part when he is showing Tara how fast he can type "Mother****er" was a great way to portray how deranged he is.

Presume Sookie will turn out to be some sort of Witch/Sorcerer?

    Opr

Fingers crossed they can maintain this level of quality. Always good to get a bit of Eric's background. The vengeance angle should prove interesting.

So what is Crystal's angle? No doubt she's some type of creature, nymph, dryad or selkie. Certainly seems a little off.

    I FREAKING LOVE THIS SHOW!

Far too many good looking people in it though. I feel like I should be doing sit ups and press up so I can have rock hard pecks and wash board abs.

    Sigh.......

Is it possible that each episode is better than the last?!

I loved how we seen more of Eric's backstory!

Oh, I assumed it was Talbot? I thought it would make sense, master and child and Talbot is very spanish in appearance. Also, we've seen Jesus during the day. It's possible he could be a werewolf then? But I don't think Talbot would tolerate that portrait in the house.

Certainly does. What is there left though? A ghost?

This was the best episode of TB ever, and not just because Tara isn't as annoying as she was, in fact, she's become one of the more interesting side stories now. Granted this is mainly due to Frankiln's special brand of psycho, but still it makes great viewing. The look on her face at the end was priceless.

More back story on Eric, now we know why he was hunting the wolves. I wonder was it only when he saw the crown that he realised it was the King that had his family killed, or did he know as soon as they met? He didn't seem to give any indication that he had recognised him anyway.

Good to see more of Sookie's other abilities, the last time we saw lightening out of her hands was when she made contact with Maryann. All sorts of new stuff happening now.

Best episode of the series thus far. Really interested to see where this is going... I'm almost confused as to what each group has planned (what is the agenda of the King, the Queen and Lorena?! Why is Bill so interested in telepathy?).

Very good episode indeed - Franklin is by far the best addition this season, he seems to become more unhinged every episode. Loved the line from the king about how mental he is, but he keeps him around because he gets the job done. Of course he better fail in turning Tara, the last thing we need is for her to become immortal ...

Loved the vengeance plot between Eric and the king too, complicating things even further. It should be good.

Still not sure what the deal with Sam and Jason's storylines is or if any of them will converge with the main plot at any point but Jason is always fun watching for the comedy value alone. Sam's story is still pretty meh overall, hoping there's much more to it than what we've seen so far...

He was there when she was banished from Godric's territory in S2 (they were all there in Godric's house).

On another note, is the Magister some vampiric equivalent of the Pope (in that the kings and queens must defer to him in some way), above the various state-based regimes?

Franklin is just brilliant, he even makes Tara look interesting. Every episode is a great show with so many different stories going on at the same time and then they throw up a new story between Eric and the King.

Loving this series. Franklin is friggin' nuts I love it!!

Wonder what's going on with Sam's brother...

Again, Jason being his funny self, thought bit with him bored at the desk in the police station was funny. Whats with Sookie and the Picachu flashy action? Her powers seem to be evolving.

And best of all.... more of Alcide shirtless :D:D The ladies are not being disappointed this season ;)

Wow what an episode! This season just keeps getting better and better!

Franklin makes Tara bareable to watch.

Erik i feel is going to do something kick ass to get revenge for his parents.

I wonder what Bills interest is in Sookies family?

    So much going on!!

Thanks - I had typed that bit and then remembered they had met in Texas...

I think the Magister is the equivalent of the ancient Pythoness from the fourth book. She sits as judge and has the power to enforce the vampire laws on all vampires including kings and queens.

    EPIC!!!!!

brilliant episode. eric was just brilliant. love learning more about his past. not surprised that he was heir to the throne.
sam's story is a bit intriguing, it's hard to know where it's going but i don't mind. i like surprises :)
franklin is just gas. the look on tara's face when he proposed to her  classic :D

anyone else find jason's police storyline a bit boring? it doesn't really appeal to me at all.

nice to see Sookie throwing a bit of lightning around. glad that they just haven't left that for later. good that they're developing that now. russel seems very pleased with this new power of Sookie's :D

just caught up with this (only started watching it 2 weeks ago:D)

anyone think that crystal might be a siren, and maybe has 2 other sisters at home or soemthing, that scene by the water made me think of it,
    http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Siren

it should become a lot more interesting as the season progresses, i assume the king still wants to marry the queen, that would be some union with him having a warewolf pack, and her selling V, cant see the magistrate liking that, or maybe they can do something about him, as the king said his only in power cause the kings allow him,

    franklin is CRAZY

will be interesting to see what eric will do, he can hardly kill the king, with the king being older and having his servants and the wolfpack,

i hope they do something interesting with sookies powers and not just give us dribs and drabs of them,

Best episode so far this season. The story lines are really starting to take off. Great to see more of Eric's back story. Vampires are supposed to leave everything about their human lives behind but I don't think that Eric can let this lie.

Franklin is great. You can't predict what he'll do next. He's a great psycho "When women say that things go black and I wake up beside bodies" :D. Russell will bring Sookie and Bill back to the mansion and they will stop Tara being turned.

Jason was really funny again. Not sure what Crystal is yet but she is definitely something. Not sure if there is anything else going on behind the scenes with Jesus and Lafayette.

If Jessica does anything with Tommy then Hoyt's just going to get in a fight with him and Jessica will get back with him. Not sure either what's going on with Tommy and his father. Joe Lee said that he owns Tommy and earlier Tommy was throwing bags at Joe Lee. Tommy doesn't seem to fear him during the day. Could something be happening during the night that Tommy is afraid of?

Thought it was the best episode so far this season - only got a chance to watch it today...
I agree that Tara is less annoying when paired with Franklin...
I'd love to see a whole episode just of Eric's backstory - I reckon that'd be great, but I don't think it could ever happen in this show - there's far too much going on elsewhere...
I don't think there's a weak storyline at all this season - everything and everyone has their merits...

I'm bored ****less with this "who's selling the blood story" and find myself caring less and less about Bill and Sookie (as a couple, Bill is far more interesting on his own). The King is a big bag of meh too but luckily Franklin and Eric are saving the day.

I agree that there are far too many good-looking people on the show. Just look at Hoyt - a virgin into his twenties and then he hooks up with one stunner after another.
