Hardware Test

So I turned on my Macbook and it went to the Apple Hardware Test screen. Quite frankly, I almost pooped myself at first coz I didn't know what it was. I let it run the test, just over a minute and it was fine. No problems found.
So I decided to google it and it appears that you can't run the H/W test without the CD. My CD is in the box in the attack so I dunno how it the screen came up.

Just for peace of mind, could ye tell me if there is something up with my laptop?

Maybe your Mac is haunted. :D

Seriously though: there is a hidden partition on your hard drive which is used for firmware updates. Apple have been including the hardware test on this partition for the last few years. You must have accidentally hit D or one of the F keys and caused it to kick in.
