    Hey all

Just wondering if anyone has tried the Boots Smooth Skin at home laser kit, and how they got on with it?
They have it for €238 in boots at the mo, and I have a few points racked up on my advantage card, so thinking of investing if it's any use.
€238 is still a lot of money though, so want to make sure I'm not wasting my hard earned cash! ;)

    Cheers,
    F

There are a few reviews on youtube, saw the one below the other day, seemed really positive.

Not answering your question I'm afraid but as far as I know if you are using your Advantage card the purchase has to be worth less than the amount on your card; i.e., you can't put points/money on your card towards a larger purchase. I'm open to correction though!

I love watching Fleurs vids...infact, it was her glowing review that got me even more interested.
Just wondered if any of the fine ladies of boards had any feedback :)

I got one of these for Christmas.

I already had 7 sessions in Urbana but still had some residual niggly hairs.
This does work a treat however you do need to be patient and you need to stick to the schedule of using once a week.

I have used it solid now for 6 months and am very happy with the results.
I havent needed to replace the bulb yet either- I use it on my lower legs and bikini line.

    Would recommend

Nope, haven't gotten it yet. Still thinking about it :)
Saw it in Boots in Liffey Valley just last weekend. It's a marked down price, so not sure how long it will last.

I'm trying to buy one but haven't found it in dundrum or town stores. Dundrum is small enough, where are the bigger boots stores? Is it just jervis?

I got it today!! Onlyy jervis and liffey valley had it. According to the sales rep they were getting it as a trial but it didn't sell well so they won't be rolled out to other stores and they will probably stop selling them when their stock is finished. Three left in jervis. It was 238 but on the website its 279.99 stg!

I'm happy except for they were sold out of the activator gel and supposedly one tube only lasts 3 sessions so i will have to go back to town to get more. Will let you know how it goes

Oh do let us know how you get on!

Trying to decide whether to go for this, or go to a salon.
My local salon have reduced their prices recently, and it's just €100 for under arms and €200 for half legs, but it is 6 sessions, and I am wondering if 6 sessions will be enough.
If it is, then I'm thinking salon. If it's not, then the Boots laser would make more financial sense!

Keep us up to date if you can oohlala :)

I've only used it once but will keep you updated as i go along. From what the sales rep said they won't be getting more in and the had three left in jervis. the first session tingled/very mildly stung a bit. the only thing that annoyed me is that it took forever to do. When you're shaving your legs you have to be very careful as you can't use it over any area that you might cut yourself or have an irritation so its go slow shaving. After that doing it took about 45 mins each for a leg and 10 mins for each underarm. Maybe it will get quicker when i'm more used to it but i found it very tedious. It will be worth it if it works though!!! I'm really pale skinned, milk bottle white on my legs and have dark hair so it looks like its made for me. My friends are already putting in bids for when i'm selling it!

I also ran out of the activator gel so have been using k-y jelly (it's what they use in the salons) Anyone else try this?

    Hey guys! (First post here).

I've decided I'm definetely going to get this. I actually live in the North though so I'm going to drive to Dublin to buy it because the 238 Euro price is great compared to a 'reduced' £275 price up here.

The problem I have is. How long do you know/think it will be reduced for? I won't be able to get down to Dublin until this day 2 weeks. So I don't want to rock down just to get the IPL at the cheap price only to find out it's been put back up again. If anyone has a rough idea or it would be great to get someone who works for Boots to tell me.

Sorry if I sound like a cheap skate. I'm a student so every saving does make a difference.

By the way, it would be great to keep this thread going with regular reviews etc. I'm really excited of the prospect of being hairless!
