I have never dealt with them personally but have been warned off them by relations from that area. They could be A1 but blood is thicker than water and all that ****e. Have seen previous pages of trouble with revenue, but google doesnt seem to like me now.

That conviction was 3 years ago. Just saw a nice car that I like on their site - do you think they should still be avoided??

I'd like to think that it was maybe an innocent mistake on their part, or is that just me being naïve cos I want to buy a car from them?!

Says in one of the articles...
An NCA spokesman said: "While the car was not clocked in his garage, he and every car dealer are obliged to act with due diligence in their dealings with consumers."

If I can add to this zombie thread, I had a disasterous experience with this garage today, pity I didnt see this thread first.

    Keeping it simple and factual:
Went down to look at a Focus ST (low mileage, black, 2006). Car looked fine. Guy I was with was reasonably sure he would buy it. Car advertised at EUR9,999. Seller knew we were travelling 100km to view it (one way).

Walked in. Sales guy <snip> immediately offered the car for EUR9000. Unexpected, but this was looking good. Basically a done deal.

Asked if "there were any good roads to test drive it around here?". Reply "No.. you wont be driving this until you pay the deposit".
Ok, can you explain how this works.
"You give me EUR500 then sign the purchase agreement..."

Purchase agreement aside, if we leave you with EUR500, drive the car and decide we dont like it or something is wrong, we can get the EUR500 back?

"Thats not what a deposit is, you cannot get it back, thats just the way it is for "these performance cars". That car is fine and has a warranty, lads if you want to test drive you are buying it, now are you buying it or not?"

I incorrectly assumed this was some monkey brought in to cover Saturday sales and asked for the manager, we were told "I run this place and this is my policy". Some 10min of agitation and arguing insued over how he expected us to give him EUR9000 to test drive a car which hadnt even been started and he eventually agreed he would test drive it with us as passengers.

He then proceeded to redline the cold engine up and down in 1-3rd in the rain (note tyre thread was just 3mm front and 1.6mm rear, measured on site) in a residential area. He got out and said "I told you the car is fine".
We left the car there. There were some other gems he came out with, but in the interest of simply recalling the facts I have left them out.

Cannot understand how this policy is meant to work in the real world and couldnt get over how he threw out EUR9000 in a recession in an allegedly hard hit industry.

I've seen a few adverts from this dealer before and he seems to state 'special order' for nearly anything: http://www.carzone.ie/search/Ford/Focus-ST/FULL-REC/201140204882137/advert?channel=CARS

Spot on lad. I can agree with Matt here, your man has a serious chip on his shoulder. He had a base model Passat for sale last year and on the Ad it said the car was special order dechromed....:rolleyes:

I am honestly gobsmacked with that carry on, I have SERIOUSLY considering buying off that lad as he has nice cars but if thats his attitude, regardless of whether its a performance car or not then I'm afraid!!!!

Wonder why the immediate drop to 9k though, would really make you suss.

What is it with the arrogance of some garage owners? I have hever had the experience outlined by Matt but I have had several experiences of walking into a forecourt querying about a car and being treated like I was wasting their time.

I glad these highlighted sales staff can afford to pick and choose their customers. The sun must be really shining for them:rolleyes:
