carrier settings are from your network,
wont affect any unlocks or jb's
probably settings for tethering or interwebs

Never got one through the phone itself, but certainly got one a few months ago when I plugged it into iTunes (phone is hardware unlocked and on Vodafone).

    Installed with no issues.

I got a carrier update from Vodafone on Saturday, but it was when I connected to iTunes.

From what I can see, this OTA carrier update for Vodafone Network resolves internet issues with some apps (like Radio apps) which are now able to connect, albeit very very slowly. Comparing Newstalk 32kbps stream on a Voda and an o2 iPhone side by side, o2 connects in seconds, vodafone takes about 30+ seconds on average. But its better than not being able to connect at all.....

There was no APN changes in the 7.1 update for Vodafone.

All that changed was a setting related to Facetime!

This carrier update, I presume it'll come to every iphone user on vodafone eventually or how does it work?

Hello everyone, just a quick question for anyone who got an iPhone 4 PAYG from VF.
Did any of you update your carrier settings when prompted in itunes and if so did anyone notice any changes eg. 3g button gone, using Safari(without wifi) or anything else?
I havn't updated yet I'm still on carrier ver 4.0,so I'd love if anyone could reply.;)

As above, the differences simply relate to Facetime.

I got the same about two weeks ago on Three too straight to my phone. I didn't see any network improvement.

Carrier settings are always being updated, changing number an crap that you will never even notice the changes. Three push out an update a while ago that stopped the user from changing carrier settings so everyone gets the settings right. They dont after JB at all as said above.
