Sky Plus slow and rewind not working

    Over the fast few days, its taking anything up to 20 seconds to change channel, and the rewind is simply not working. It pauses ok... and the time rewound comes up but the picture just breaks up and does not rewind or forward play.
    I've read here (and elsewhere) about a system reset - but I dont want to lose my recordings. I've done the software update thing and power off (which I was increasingly needing to do anyway) and no joy. Its a Thompson HD box - just 2 years old.
    Am I looking at a new box or losing my recorded programmes?. Any help appreciated!

    It sounds like your machines Hard-drive is full. If so delete a few things that you have watched and do a system housekeeping.

    This will not delete your recordings.

    Press services
    Press 0,1 then select
    option 7 planner rebuild..

    Thanks Steveon.... I'm not finding that planner rebuild. Got this new EPG thing - options not numbered,
    settings, 0 (gives me settings with picture highlighted, pressing 1 after that does nothing. I'm playing around with the options to see if i find this planner rebuild, cant find - but i see I have automatic disk management enabled, is this not the same thing? Sorry to be a pain...

    If if the new epg you have then its services, 001 select...to access hidden menu..cant think off hand which one is planner rebuild..

    Excellent... got it! Just recording film (inglorius bastards) at the moment - so might have to wait til tomorrow. Thanks a million - gotta be worth a try!!
