Unusual method of payment! ??

    Ok, here's the deal...

Myself and the missus are headin to Bali in a few weeks and wanna go diving for a while. We found a seemingly reputable company that offer a really good package, so we got in contact.

The problem is, they want us to just deposit the money into their bank account. Now, it seems genuine, but I've already been scammed this year out of 200 snots by an organisation of douches called worldticketshop.com. Arseholes. So obviously, I'm now a sceptic.
My question is...does anyone know if this method of payment is the norm for that part of the world? We are looking at accommodation there too, and they seem to use the same payment method.

Any advice would be greatly appreciated!

What's the name of the company?

I wouldn't use that method of payment anywhere in the world personally. If they don't take Visa then I'm willing to spend more to find someone who does.

Why don't you just wait until you get to Bali and organise it then? For all you know at the moment they don't even exist. It's not like there's a shortage of outfits doing diving in Bali.

As people have found out in the past, bank account transfers give you no come back whatsoever if something goes wrong. Whats to stop them from deleting your reservation, and keeping your money? Answer: With a bank balance transfer, very little.

    Avoid it.

Avis have a Bali office, maybe ring them?

Were we on the ball? Did we pass the test?
It happens the whole time. Two very similiar words.

On the orignal topic of bank transfer. It should be avoided like
the plague. At least do some homework on the recipitent.

There is no need to pre pay for diving in BALI, honestly you can turn up and arrange while you are there, and its always better to take a look around the dive centre & meeting instructors anyway before parting with any cash

I would also be inclined not to pre-book. What if you were to cancel going; or are unwell while you are on holiday and want to change times etc; The small print often has hidden nasties. And look how many companies are folding with little or no notice!

There are always good offers on the resorts and plenty of literature with a variety of options. Still, it's only my opinion!
