We stayed at Dublin Port twice last year and no problems. We asked a security guy, and he said to park close to the wire, and that way we would not be in the way of cars lining up for other Ferry crossings. Its noisy during the night with ferries coming and going. You can also park up at the Terminal building.

We stayed overnight for both Irish Ferries and Stena Line.
