Time limit for small claim

My car was clamped in a private car park last year twice in the space of two weeks. It cost me €100 euro to get the clamp off each time, but I had a valid permit.

It was on the dashboard facing up, the company claimed it should have been stuck on the windscreen, but it was clearly visible. I had it there as the permit was not sticking properly, and I preferred it visible on the dash board rather than possibly falling down on the floor.

The appeals process was a waste of time, as it was the clamping company itself who made the decision. No surprise they did not want to hand me back my money.

I was wondering what is the time limit for taking legal action for a small claim, such as the above? I have all receipts for payment for original permit, pictures, etc.

Also would the small claims court be suitable for this claim? Seems to be just relating to faulty goods, unreturned deposits, etc.

6 years is your limit to claim.

I suspect this will be a district court action and not suitable for small claims.
