    Don't worry,not a Hurling thread.

    Having all sorts of problems with a a pull / hook at the moment.

    I address the ball, line up club, feet etc, get comfy. and away I go.
    Problem is, when the clubface returns to the ball, I've managed to close the clubface.

    Left, left, left.

    Has anyone any advice...... desperate.:confused::confused:

    Thanks gents.... and enjoy the Open today.

    Don't pull too hard and you should be able to squeeze one out the middle.

    I was having issues with a pull hook. The main thing that sorted it for me was weakening my grip and I was also taking the club back closed. Best advice is to get a lesson.

    Slow down!

    Am no expert when it comes to golf but any time i'm not hitting it well its because i'm taking too hard a swing at the ball.

    Dont know if this will be of any help, but I was having issues with a hook (off the tee expecially). I'm self taught + father taught, and not very good at explaining so you can ignore if you like. I play off nine, so probably not at all good enough to give advice, but here goes..

    What I found helpful is to make sure to make a good turn away from the ball with the shoulders. The reason being that when you begin your downswing & follow through, you will definitely be rotating your body through towards the target, if you have not rotated away from it in the first place you will be very closed on impact. I found that the more I hooked it the more uptight I became, and resulted in turning away even less, i.e. trying to keep everything from moving, rather than making a good turn away with the shoulders.

    Try to imagine your chest plus arms onto the club as a triangle, when you address the ball your chest is pointing down at the ball, as you begin your back swing your chest should start rotating away from the ball with your arms, keeping the triangle in place. Make sure your head does not turn with your shoulders!

    Of course, the reason for your bad shots could be anything, and you are much better off seeing a professional coach!!
