Recently there has been a lot of marketing directly to male patients regarding testosterone deficiency syndrome and if you have nonspecific symptoms you may be having this. www.lustforlife.ie

I wonder what people feel about this given that there is little evidence

There is a very good analysis from Australia.

Are we heading same way as oestrogen replacement therapy?

The cynic in me wonders is this targetted at the same men who seek viagra as a boost to their sex lives ?
What would the side effects of Testosterone replacement ' therapy ' be ?

There is the theoretical risk that by commencing testosterone replacement you may be increasing the risk of atherosclerosis and associated manifestations. So you may ( or may not) improve your "sexdrive" but put yourself at increased risk of dying.

The problem, much like the HRT debacle, is that it has not been investigated properly.

I would wonder about the impact of Testosterone on Prostate Cancer risks - good or bad ?
I was not aware that HRT was considered unproven or still the subject of debate , I remember a friend of my mothers had it and she swore it gave her a new lease of life...

There is increased risk of endometrial cancers, breast cancers, ovarian cancers, DVT, and cardiovascular diseases, but on the plus side you have less hot flushes ( until you stop the medication).
