Malcom Tucker is one of my favourite TV characters.

"He's about as much use as a marzipan dildo."

Saw In The Loop without watching The Thick Of It, seems like a good time to get into it.

"Climbing the mountain of conflict"? You sounded like a Nazi Julie Andrews!

Is RTE transmitting it from the very start?

No, they are starting with the last series, the one with Nicola Murray.

Shame they didn't have the Kahunas to broadcast the Chris Langham episodes.

Bearing in mind Langham is hardly known here it seems odd. Anyway all solid gold political filth.

Without spoilering it (I only saw series one so far) why would they or wouldn't they show the Chris Langham episodes??

Chris Langham got arrested and charged (and convicted) for something in real life. Google is your friend as they say.

OK, rading that now but I'm not sure I make the connection.

Well not sure what you are getting at then! :)

The Langham episodes are now basicly off-limits for the BBC, its unlikely they will show them again Ditto the brilliant Help which Langham starred in and wrote with Paul Whitehouse. Of course that doesn't necessarily mean anything as far as RTE are concerned. Its just another bought in time filler for them.

To be blunt, I presume they didn't want to have a convicted sex offender on the show. And as far as the fact that CL withdrew from the show, one thing that The thick of it is showing me, is the art of spin :D

But he'd already been on the show, and on TV and the DVD release, so what difference does it make now?

You know how it is with this sort of thing. Once you blot your copybook with child pron and you work in tv you're a gonna and all your works "cease to be"

Thought I'd bring this back up. New series started last night. Seems Peter Mannion's crowd have taken over

Hour last season finale last night, outstanding. The best written/acted show on tv by a mile.

Season finale?????????????? UGH! Malcolm Tucker would have something sharp to say about your brain being stuffed full of hamburgers and cheese you squeeze from a tube.

There is a thread for this series on the first page.
