Advice required on sending a parcel to the Ukraine

    (Hope this is the right forum)

    I want to send a a parcel to a friend in Kiev in Ukraine.


    But I have heard some worrying tales of corruption there with
    their mail services and parcels going missing etc aswell as long hold ups with customs.

    Does anyone have any experience of sending mail or parcels to eastern europe?

    Which is the best courier company to use?

    Are the costs very high?

    I'd appreciate any advice

    it depends on value
    if its cheap XXXX its unlikely to get "lost" so registered mail should be ok

    if its an expensive item use a proper courior that tracks it every step of the way and insures it for loss/damage
