Went to see Porkville upstairs in The Lock tonight. Written and performed by Mike Finn and Myles Breen. I haven't laughed so hard in so long - it was absolutely wonderful! It's a comic history of Limerick in the same vein as Pigtown. Don't want to spoil it for anyone so I won't say anymore! Tickets are just €10 and it runs to the end of August. Definitely not to be missed! :)

    Thanks for that Boomerang.
I was waiting to hear a review and will be going some evening during the week.

If you enjoyed Pigtown, this one's not to be missed! I'm definitely going to see it again before the end of the run.

We were supposed to go see this on Sat night but the rain kept me at home.
Might pop along some other night.

Pigtown was amazing, so I'm looking forward to this.
Wasn't Mike Finn the writer of that too? Or was it his brother? (John I think)

If I haven't seen pigtown ( I know, my bad) will I still get this?

You will of course zuroph. :) Don't want to say too much as I don't want to spoil it for anyone else!

I think Mike himself wrote Pigtown? And Myles Breen's brother John wrote Alone It Stands?

Yes indeed. You are correct. Thanks for clarifying.

I went to see it on opening night. Was going to write a proper review but got lazy (and as you can see, still too lazy to write one).

It's a really good laugh. You won't learn any history whatever and might actually unlearn a few things you already knew. There are some interesting mixups, interesting "guest" appearances and nice jibes at almost everything Limerick. Plenty of self-deprecation too. It's very music hall and it's all the better for it. There are far worse things you could be spending a tenner on and not much better going on in Limerick at the moment - it gets my thumbs up.

Running till the end of July btw, not August, at least according to the facebook page (recent info on the proper webpage is mainly just the flyer for the month).
