    Hi guys,
Important files on my USB device have become corrupt.
Anyway of recovering them without paying for a program to recover them?
    Thanks.

What is the exact error message(s) that is coming up, ella? You can try a 'scandisk' on it, but it might not be be successful in recovering them.

I suggest a free program that recovers them. Oh, and immediately stop doing anything with the USB drive apart from recovering files. Don't write anything to the USB device or the recovery process could be spoiled.

    Try Recuva - http://www.piriform.com/recuva

There are many others out there, make sure to get ones that you have researched though so you don't end up with crap programs
