I need some help please. I took out my car stereo to try & 'improve' the AM reception by checking the antenna was connected correctly. I also removed the connections at the back & reconnected them, ever since doing this the LCD screen appears to be very weird see pics below and the stereo doesn't work, it won't even eject the CD. Does anyone know how I can fix this?

Pic 1 shows display when radio turned on
    pic 2 when ignition off
pic 3 shows connections at the back.

    Help much appreciated.

Looks like you haven't reconnected the wiring loom correctly / fully. Do you have the radio code?

I do have the code for the stereo, if you could tell me where I've went wrong that would be great. I did push the connecters in as far as I could

Thanks very much for going to that trouble, having looked at your photo, it is similar to my own, only difference being I have a part inserted in the middle section, I think this is to do with the hands free kit in the car. The reason I am so puzzled is that I just unclipped them & put them back, I didn't fiddle about with them too much...

no, I didn't move any wires at all, if you imagine your own picture, it was like I just unclipped the yellow sections holding in the wires and then put it back a short while later..

Doesn't look like a problem with the wiring as you've connected it up correctly. It looks more like somethings wrong with the screen itself or the internal connections behind it. You didn't drop it or let it fall by any chance?

Try plugging it out for a few hours and trying it again..

It's funny you should say that as I did think about this when it was hanging down & I was poking about the back, did the LCD that was probably resting on the gear stick, get messed up in someway, but it would seem there is possibly some greater damage than maybe just the lcd screen. I don't recall dropping it but maybe the screen got pushed in & damaged the internal wiring in some way.

Leave it a few hours and it might come right by itself. If it doesn't, pm me as I may have another broken 6000cd unit with a good screen that could be swapped.
