One wisdom tooth under local anesthetic by a oral surgeon will cost about 300-400 euro. Sedation would be more, and GA would be more again.

Maybe time to take out VHI cover, of course this would count as a preexisting condition.

If you have no money apply for a medical card. Then treatment would be free in the dublin dental hospital. This is the public system so waiting list are long.

You can go to the dental hospital as a private patient without a medical card, again with long waiting lists. There is still a cost but not as mush as a private specialist.

If you know you need it out but its not urgent then save 20 euro a weeks (stop smoking or drinking, I don't know your personal situation) for 20 weeks, you will have saved enough for the procedure under LA from a specialist. Some general dentist take out wisdom teeth also for a smaller fee but it depends on your clinical situation and difficulty.

Unfortunately the government doesn't see the importance or oral health and have cut all the state benefits for dental treatment.
