oscail v's OU BA degree

    Hi

    which is best and cheaper, psychology with the OU or Oscail?

    Also, i have 1.5 yrs completed with NUI Maynooth, which of the above would give me more excemptions?

    Afaik only one of them is recognized by the revelvant professional bodies and its the OU.

    Ironically one of my lecturers in Oscail left oscails course after a few years to finish in the OU because of that.

    As for exemptions. You'll have to check it with them.

    OU is probably more expensive(leaving aside possible exmpetions) but its tax deductable just like Oscial.

    OU may offer you up to 180 points credit if your prior learning is relevant. This is equivalent to 1.5 semesters, having passed all relevant exams. If your NUIM courses fit in to the OU's named psychology degree, you should get that much credit. However, for some named degrees, they only allow 60 points credit. Email them fairly soon though, there's a bit of paperwork and and an assessment process to go through which can take a bit of time.
