An 18th century ship has emerged from the merky foundations of ground zero.

A lot of Manhattan is reclaimed land. Tell you here on how they think it got there:
What is already established is that the vessel did not sink, but ended up deliberately at the modern Ground Zero as part of landfill debris that early builders used to extend Manhattan's coastline into the Hudson River.

Great...... another story for my American relations to waffle on and on about the next time they come to visit.
"You know what we got over here? Yep that's right, a mostly intact 18th century sailing ship in the muddy foundations of the World Trade Center reconstruction site."

The conspiracy theorists will be telling us next that in fact that ship brought the towers down. Sailed in from the hudson through the subway. And the Pirates blew up the towers.

Saying that it was found under the foundations of the World Trade Towers makes it sound a lot less extraordinary...

Thank you both...i'd a thread putting forward this conspiracy, joining the dots, and coming up with 4, over on the 'conspiracy theories' forum, but it was closed down...i am starting to think that perhaps the illuminati's reach goes deeper (into boards), than we've thought thus far..

The timeframe as well, it's probably around the time that these common ancestor between obama, bush etc were knocking about!!

And, for the record, my thread was closed for what being unreasonable?..not enough reptiles for the mods or something?..

    Quoting RTE
"What is already established is that the vessel did not sink, but ended up deliberately at the modern Ground Zero as part of landfill debris that early builders used to extend Manhattan's coastline into the Hudson River."

    That doesn't make sense.

Battery park area was extended into the Hudson because they took dirt/fill FROM the World Trade site TO the Hudson, not the other way around.

It seems as if they are saying that debris was brought FROM the Hudson TO the World Trade site in order to shore things up.

Could be, however, I remember during the 70's people talking about Manhattan growing by an acre or whatever.
