Hi, not too sure where to put this but I suppose personal issues suits as I'd like to remain anonymous.

I have a problem with my penis and need to see a urologist about it.
I went to a GP and was referred to a urologist but the wait time just to see one is ridiculous(over a year).

So I'm wondering do I have any other options? I'd prefer not to have to visit the GP again.
I have some savings and would be willing to pay to get this problem sorted.
Is it possible to visit a private urologist without another consultation from the Doc?
I would also be willing to travel abroad if it gets me sorted sooner, or maybe at less expense.

    Thanks

    Hi OP,

The public system is horrible for waiting times. You don't need another doctors letter for a private referral. Just ring up one of the private hospitals in Dublin like The Hermitage/ Beacon/ Mater Private and ask to be put through to one of the urologists secretaries. They should be able to make an appointment for you no problem and the wait should be only 2-3 weeks.

Hope this is of some help. :D

    Hi OP,

I know how annoying waiting for a specialist appointment is, I'm currently waiting nearly 2 and a half years for one!!

If you go private, you may still need a letter from your GP (anal, I know).

One thing I would suggest, is ring a Polish medical centre, there are many of them all over Ireland.

A polish girl I know says that a lot of the polish clinics have a urologist, gynocologist, pediatrician as well as GPs and nurses etc.

That's the way it's done in Poland so they set up their clinics the same here.

You'll get an appointment very quickly, with no referral crap, and for much cheaper.

Also, the doctors are very well qualified and speak very good english so there's nothing to worry about.

    Good luck
