Import Duty Exemptions (Wholefoods?)

    Hi there,
I'm not sure if this would better received here or in the Taxation forum?

Just wondering if there is a list of items which are exempt from import duties and charges when coming from outside the EU?

I know wholefoods have no VAT added in Irish stores and was just wondering if this would go in favour of getting by customs without having extra charges placed on top of a relatively large order of wholefoods from outside the EU at all?

If wholefoods are exempt, is there a list of other items which are also?

Any feedback would be appreciated :)

So maybe this would be best suited to the taxation forum :o

Would appreciate if a mod could pop it over :)

Not sure that this belongs in Taxation, but maybe someone knows the answer to this question.

are you talking about VAT or import duty?
i know medical goods are exempt from duty but sometimes may still have vat applied. other goods can be other way round.
