    Hi all

First-time renters considering renting a two bed house/apartment in Dublin 2. Rough asking price for the properties that we like on daft, etc. are around €1100. I would like to get this down by at least €100. Is this realistic? Are landlords willing to budge on the asking price at present? No experience in this area so any advice/comments would be welcome.

    Thanks

Yes many landlords are very interested in securing quality tenants with excellent references who will care for the property. My advise is to seek out a couple of good letting agencies in the area. Meet with them, and give them your criteria after doing your own research on daft. Advise them of your budget and they can pass on to their clients, and there will be clients who will be willing to reduce rent for the right client.
