I absolutely love my iPhone and really love the way the iPod navigates, but what really pisses me off is iTunes.

I use my phone connected to two PCs.
PC1 is my laptop which I keep at home and I regularly connect to the net with it over my WiFi (O2 Dongle). I also connect my iPhone to the WiFi at home and sometimes use iTunes on the phone rather than connecting it to the laptop. So in general all my music is on my laptop and I regulaly sync with my iPhone.

My second PC is in work and whenever I need to download anything really big I usually use that connection as its a fixed line Broadband and its a lot quicker than the O2, and plus it helps me keep within strict guideline at home with O2.

Recently I've been downloading music direct onto my phone over the WiFi at home, and downloaded about 4-5 albums direct onto my phone from iTunes. Then I seen there was an update available on iTunes for my Navigon Sat Nav app. Its a massive 1.8gb so I downloaded it in work. I downloaded it and all the other available updates (22 in all) and then went to sync with my iPhone. I ensured it was only set to sync apps and started away.

When it completed I looked in my iPod app and noticed that all my music had disappeared.:mad: Bollix I thought as I started to download all the albums I had previously bought.

That was Monday. Checking my account today I've spotted that I've been charged for all them albums again. Why did they ****ing charge me twice.

I've reported all the albums but they refunded money for one and then used that as an example of why I should've known better.

When I download an album from iTunes is it possible to download it again onto a second computer/device using my account without getting recharged for it?

On a whole I find iTunes to be painfully frustrating and confusing to use. Am I alone in this. I find it hard to accept that the same company that made the elegant and easy to use iPhone could've made the monstrosity that is iTunes.

Is there anyone else who hates iTunes or can anyone point me to iTunes for Dummies tutorial online?

Plenty that hate iTunes, seems it is very bloated on Windows, whereas Mac version is much better. You can share music on up to 5 devices. I don't know why the music disappeared, unless you were given the warning that you were syncing with a different library and that your music would be wiped. You can't download music again that you have bought, but you can with software

Simple thing, but I do it with all my music, is make a CD of it, and keep it safe. if you need to, you can re-import as mp3s and use accordingly.

I'm not sure what you're set up is, but you can sync the music from iPhone to iTunes - it will ask you if wish to transfer purchased music across. BUT if you sync'ed up to a different computer, it normally warns that you are syncing with a different library and that certain things will be wiped. Sounds to me thats what happened.

The way I have it done, is to copy your laptop iTunes folder across to your other machine, and update them both as you need to. This keepsboth libraries the same, and means you can move the phone back and forward between them
