Hi all looking for some info please , i have a triton T90si shower that won't heat the water, When I turn it on it runs very quietly but the water is cold, I opened up the unit and there is black soot all over it, I just need to know what would cause this as it is our second shower in 8 years it is used twice a day at most

    Many thanks.

The black stuff is normal. It comes from the motor when in opperation. The fact it wont heat the water means the element is gone. Get in touch with joey the lips on this he is the man for showers. P.s get a mira ellite it's a better shower.

My head is that big I cannot get out the door. Thanks Johnny.

Anyway as its bought now there is no point getting into it too much but to be honest at 8 years I would have replaced it rather than repair it as a straight replacement costs less.

On the showers there is nothing wrong with Mira Elite or Triton t90. When we fit them we went with the cheapest. There is deals all around. For example.... at the moment B&Q are the cheapest on the mira elite and woodies are the cheapest on the T90.

a crowd in balbriggan "Arro" I have forgotten there actually name due to a serious hangover were actually very good on the triton as well.

ps on the problem... if it runs very quitely its either the motor brushes or the heating element... I would have bet on the motor brushes. They were cheap to replace but like I say... at 8 years......
