    Hi there,

I am just after getting a new Sky HD box to replace a Sky + box I used to use the Rte teletext quiet a bit on the Sky + box but it comes up as Service unavailable when I tried it on the Sky HD box, I have switched off the power to it, rebooted it etc but to no avail,

Any suggestions on how or if I can get Rte Teletext on the HD box,

    Thanks

You'll need to connect a Scart lead between your TV and Sky+HD box and switch over to Scart input when you want to use teletext. HDMI, which is the cable required to get the high definition picture, doesn't carry the VBI lines which contain the teletext data.

Of course NON-sky boxes have for years stored the entire magasine and do it on the box, no TV support needed, so works on RGB SCART monitor or HDMI.

Sky is good on User Interface. Never been good on other features

You connect SCART and HDMI cables to the TV. You use your remote control to switch the TV between SCART and HDMI. These are usually marked as AV1 on the source menu for SCART and whatever for HDMI. I have this setup on my Panasonic TV. It defaults to SCART on startup. The wife watches TV using SCART connection - she has no interest in the the merits of HD;) I switch to the HDMI connection and turn on the AV amplifier when I want to experience the full HD, Dolby Digital experience:D

Or, you could just watch it on the RF loop through...
