Refund from Sky as minimum contract is now up?

Hi all, my 12 month contract with Sky finished on 25th June. However as I paid on the first day of every month I actually paid for the whole of June, with the period from 25th June to the 30th now showing as a credit on my online account.

How is this amount refunded? Do they send out a cheque or is it put back into your bank account via the direct debit facility? Also how long does this take? Nothing has happened yet.

As it's probably a very small amount (<€10?) it's probably not worth waiting for!

I suspect one of two things will happen:

    A) Nothing. It will remain in your account as a credit in case you sign up again.
    B) Sky will eventually refund it back to your bank account. Refund is not likely to be immediate, personally I'd wait 6 weeks before even chasing it up.

I was sent a cheque in the past. You should take it back on principal

On principle yes. They'd be quick enough to take it off you! I'll keep an eye on my online bank a/c or hope to see a cheque. Strange I haven't gotten any letters from them yet asking me to re-subscribe.

When you say your contract is up, you mean you've cancelled your contract??

I would take it that the 12 month minimum has expired.

I thought the contract just keeps on running unless you cancel??

It will but you cannot cancel within 12 months without incurring a penalty.

Yes. I cancelled the contract and it ended when the 12 month minimum period expired.

Absolutely! Have a UK FTV (London region) card for Sky+HD box now, plus another FTV card (NI) for a standard Sky box in bedroom. Plus both TVs have MPEG4 tuners for DTT. All you need I think really.
