We got Wairau Cove with our deal tonight, nice Kiwi Sauvignon Blanc. Selling on its own for €15.99, yet going for a tenner with some food....

in my local tesco theres no off licence , they have an off licence a few hundred metres down the road so you cant buy all the stuff together in one purchase and are reluctant to give you refund if you buy the stuff in the two different stores.

In Tesco Ashbourne they usually have everything in this deal, have gotten it loads there.

Clarehall are a disaster when it comes to it though.

The mains and the sides are usually pretty poor. But if you know someone who has a dog, then the wine and desert are good value.

I really like the Fish Pie with this offer , if you get the wine its great value.

Never got this deal but thought i remembered hearing that the Tesco Finest stuff is usually all right, would most be of the opinion that the mains aren't great? Though as you say, probably worth it anyway just for the wine and some desert!

I believe that there is a Tesco finest meal deal glitch that is working that allows you to select

    2 x Main Course
    1 x Desert
    1 X Wine
    for €10.

Basically you are buying a second main course instead of a side dish. Main courses are showing an original (inflated) approx cost of €6.50 and a side is about €3.50.

I have bought the meal deal in this configuration a couple of times in the past few weeks and it worked fine each time. It is important that you select 2 mains and 1 desert & wine. It does not work if you select 2 mains and 1 side dish and wine.

This morning I tried this online to verify that it is still working and it appears to be. See copy of order screen below: 2 x main, 1 desert, 1 wine - total cost €30.78, Total multi buy savings €20.78, Guide Price (meal deal price) €10

Check your receipt to make sure this works. If you go through the self service checkout then you can check it first hand for yourself.

    Enjoy !

In tesco dundrum last night looking for a bottle of white wine, picked up a bottle for €15 - noticed a sticker on the price bit saying these bottles could be used in the €10 meal deal.. okay, so i went around to the proper meal deal section and got me 2 chicken thingies, mash potato (the side) and chocolate cake for desert.
The cost of all that food came to a grand total of a 5er OFF the bottle of wine which I was already going to buy. Amazing deal.

On the receipt it comes to 29euro, then 19 slashed off for the deal leaving the cost to me at a 10er.

Brilliant deal, for 20 it would have good/standard, for a 10er it's excellent, i'll be going back.

We've gotten this a good few times too, It's a fantastic bargain.
IMHO though the food is sometimes a bit disappointing taste-wise eg the mashed potato is a bit rubbery. It looks good but has been processed just a bit too much. Still, cant be beaten on price and convenience.

I like the food.. that chicken thing is tasty tasty good.. If it wasn't for the calories, it'd be a weekly winner in our house.

Yes, this definitely works in store. I have bought the 2 x main meal, 1 x desert and 1 x wine for €10 on a number of occasions and from a couple of different stores.

Have just tried this in Drogheda Xtra store with no probs. I wonder would any combination work - eg 2 mains and 1 side instead of dessert?

Thanks to the OP for sharing :)

From my trials I believe that you can replace the side dish with a main course and not a desert. This definitely works with
    2 x main course
    1 x desert
    1 x drink (wine/orange juice)

If you trial it online it works as above but does not work when you replace the desert with a main course.

I tried it online just there. It won't work with 3 mains. 2 mains and 1 dessert works fine though.

I've got some of these meal deals and they were great in relation to the individual prices ~ but as pointed out, not always and there is a trap that I didn't know about ~ there may be no meal deals either on any given day or a time of day ~

However, in my case when the check out girl said this to me, the supervisor gave me the deal.

I've been happy with the deals, occasionally I've seen the wine selling for €9 separately.

I just tried it, it works but the online shopping function only allows 1 meal deal! I've bought 3 at a time instore - anyone else find this or is there a workaround?

I'm not sure that the glitch has been fixed.

I just added 2 x main courses, 1 x dessert and 1 x bottle of wine to my online basked and it priced out at €12.

    See printscreen of basket below.

    ahh, excellent!! :)

I wonder is it online only? Might give it a go instore over the weekend. If anyone get there before me please post. Two main courses far better that one main and one side :)

    Thanks siber
