Moving Business from Eircom to Voip

    Hi all,

Would anyone know of any installers that could help us install a VOIP solution for our business of 15 users?
Currently use Eircom with a Cisco phone system in house.
We want to move to a voip solution purely for cutting costs as I feel we dont use the phone line enough for the costs Eircom charge us monthly.

    Any ideas?

Hello there, a few questions first :

    1. Is your Cisco phone system currently able to use VoIP trunks? If it's not and you would have to add the VoIP capability to it then the costs could be significant compared to any savings you might get by switching from Eircom.

    2. What lines do you have connected to the current phone system, e.g. analogue, BRI, PRI etc.?

    regards
    Brian

I can select SIP truck on the cisco uc520 and it will allow me to enter in blueface's SIP settings but I cant seem to connect up to Blueface

we only have a FRA line currently connected to the phone system

Have you asked Blueface for their help on this? It looks like a lot of people have tried to connect exactly the same equipment to Blueface but I don't see any reports of success.

Unfortuntely the Cisco uc520 is a proprietary system and it wouldn't be that common so as a result it's not going to be easy to get help. Have you tried connecting to any other SIP providers (even international ones) just for testing? It looks like people have documented their successful connections to other SIP providers.

    Hi there,

We have customers using Cisco uc520. The trick is to get a SIP username that only contains numerical digits.

If you want to play with that you can add yourself a numerical SIP account (it's free) on our ToolBox.

Let us know if you have issues with this.
