City Centre to M7

    Hi,
Want to get from City centre to M7 straight after work so peak rush hour.

One suggestion was to go out the N4 and come across the road from Lucan that cuts across to the M7 - would this be the quickest option as the last time I was going south we went out by Inchicore/red cow roundabout and it took 90 mins to get past the red cow.

    Thanks!

It depends on how heavy the chapelizod bypass is - check the time (on the website below) just before you leave for the "Heuston to N4 Palmerstown" run on the sdcc car journey times to see if/how congested it is.

Currently 5mins:23secs uncongested - goes up to 20-30 mins if there is congestion on the route.

    Journey Times Info: http://traffic.southdublin.ie/car_journ/journey.aspx

Also worth checking the next jump which is "N4 Palmerstown to N4 Fonthill" which is currently 3mins:30secs uncongested.

Yeah, the N4 -> Outer Ring Road -> N7 would be faster than trying to get through the N7 -> Newlands Cross stretch during rush hour.

There's an extra pinchpoint there at the moment because the M50S -> N7W freeflow is down to one lane.

You're probably gone by now but I have to get from Merrion Square to the N7 a lot.

We follow the Grand Canal all the way to the Maxol, turning left to Crumlin, out the Long Mile Road and left into Robinhood Industrial Estate. You come out at the Red Cow and left onto the N7.

    Simples!
