    Folks
Looking at getting a handy sprayer for general use on the farm. Looking at spraying 5-10 acres at most at a time. Will be used for spraying rushes and round-up prior to reseeding.

    Any recommendations?

look for 12 m boom at least 600 litre tank, for rushes you will use 300 l/hectare

If you are buying new try Pat Brogan in Strokestown Co,Roscommon.
I don't have a number for him but he he had LOADS of them outside his place and they shot out. He seems to be pretty well priced.
If you are buying secondhand there are a loads of sites that you can try and mags.

    Hello there lads,

Severely stuck this year, the lad I normally get to spray the thistles, rushes, docs, nettles etc hasn't come near me and is impossible to track down , so can you tell me what would be the best priced licker for a Honda quad and where to get one down South ,I'm based in West Cork

What are the 60L sprayers on XQuad like with the booms? Are they any good or is the licker better?

Seriously thinking about spraying myself from now on and not waiting on clowns who say they'll show up and never do.

    Thanks

Can't comment on the sprayer for quads but I'd imagine it's the right job.

For rushes the licker is probably better. You'll need to get out with it for a few years for best results. And of course good drainage is the ultimate cure for rushes!

Sprayer vs Licker. I'm going for a sprayer as I will have use for it burning off ground with Roundup prior to reseeding and I don't fancy getting both.

I know what you mean. I got a guy to spray one field for me. He sprayed it in two halves, three weeks apart! Also ideal spraying times are few and far between. If you have your own you can get out when it's best.

    Hope this helps.
