Kids MTB without suspension

    Hi Folks,

Can anyone recommend a kids mtb bike (20" or possibly 24") that doesn't come with suspension and disk brakes.

Now a days companies seem to slap them on every kids bike going, to make them look cool but I've yet to see one that's any good.

I can find a few hard tails around which have tempted me but you go to the shop and have a look, put some weight on the forks and they hardly budge! My Marin has softer forks and I weigh 4 times my son, how's his weight going to make them move!

I'd rather they put the money into the component's and leave the suspension/disk brakes alone.

    Thanks,

    Chris

The "accepted wisdom" among the MTB crowd is that the Specialized Hotrock is the best kids mountain bike around! They do have suspension forks but not disc brakes! Some of the kids bikes qround are incredibly heavy. My 7 year old has a Hotrock and loves it!
