Is it a new van you are buying or used? If it is a new van and you are VAT registered Citroen have just announced special offer on the Berlingo First. You can get this for €8,995 excl VAT now.

If it is used then the 307 Van is pretty good if you want a car derived van which looks a little less van like but as it is really a car it won't have the same load capacity as the Berlingo or Partner. Have you considered the Nemo, this is a good blend of car and van?

Really depends on what you will be using it for, the Berlingo will have a taller loading bay with easier access as it was designed initially to be a van.

The 306 van started out in life as a 3 door car with the rear seats, seatbelt harnesses and rear windows removed. If you don't need the rear extra loading practicality of the Berlingo I would go for the 306 as it is more refined, handles better and doesn't feel like a van. Try and find one of the last models with the rare 2.0 litre HDi engine, they are pretty nimble on the road too.

as above 306 unless you need the space, berlingo is awful to drive.

+1 on the berlingo being awful to drive.

Been loaned one a few times and they are rubbish.

I have a connect which is a much more solid feeling van than the citreon.

If you can get away with a car based van then they are a much better option.

What about the astra van more room for long items like ladders etc.
