You had to go the whole way through checkout to check whether it worked - including entering your credit card details. It said that if the promotional code did not cover the cost the balance would be deducted from the card. I was trying to see would it work with the iPhone but went no further for obvious details. iPhone 16gb is sold out anyway.

Wish they would give a bonus when topping up by €30 they used to give €3 extra now nowt.....Vodaphone give €6
