    Simple enough question really?

Will the AV cable with the newer PS1 version, work on the PS3?

Same connection as PS2 cable which works on PS3, so I'm guessing yes?

Haven't tried, afraid I might blow up the system :D

I know some lad answered me here saying it should but I'd just like some confirmation :)
    Dooce.

    Yeah you can use them.

You are better off upgrading to HDMI or RGB scart if you don't have a HD TV though, those yellow, white and red cables give terrible picture quality.

i know people that had 360 and ps3 in sd thinking it was hd for ages. Some games will suffer badly with sd, you won't be able to read much text in games such as fallout 3.

What's SD, Small Definition or something? :D

Yeah, FIFA World Cup 2010 for the PS3 on mine, the text is near to impossible to read.

Any tips for good, cheap TV's? :D

    SD= Standard definition

Its because all PS3 Games are made for HD, devlopers couldnt give a monkeys about users who still use SD (old tvs with scart/ compenent) Thats why all new-ish PS3 are near impossible to read espically when it comes to text. Think Fallout or FIFA 10!

19' HD Ready Alba in Argos for €118,excellent price! I have a 26" Alba that I got in Argos for €250, the difference in quality between that and new old SD telly is obviously class! :D

Or if your looking for a bigger/better build tv, 22" Samsung for under €200

Then buy a 2 metre HDMI Cable out of Tesco = Boom, gaming pleasure.

    Hope it helps!

I think 360 and PS3 games look fine in Standard Definition. The problem is that those yellow red and white cablesgive you picture quality less than even standard definition. Everything looks horrendous on them.

A good RGB cable I find sorts this out. The jump in image quality from the pack in cables is massive and the only game were the text was still crap was Dead Rising and even then it went from impossible to read to difficult to read.

Agreed about the Red Yellow White cables being terrible especially if you use a HDMI for a while, you will never go back unless you are stuck !

get 32" if you are gonna splash out http://www.powercity.ie/?par=10-12&cat=TV%2032%22
