Three bill-pay (do they do credit check)?

    HI Guys

Does anyone know if 3 do a credit check when signing up to bill? (One of the best of both plans)

I know they do it when your buying over the phone / web, but do they do it when you go in to the shop and show proof of address & ID?

I dont have a good credit history, so would prefer if they didnt need to, would be mortified if they turned me down in the shop.

Also - What is needed to switch over? - Eg 2 ID's and 2 Bills?

    Cheers
    Spy

No the mobile networks do not have access to a credit check in the traditional form (i.e they can't check your ICB rating)

Their form of credit check is solely based on the information you provide to them and how that is scored by their internal system i.e length of time in job, time with bank etc...

Also, what do they look for? Is it just two recent bills and 2 forms of id?

Think it's one photo id and 2 bills but sure if you've two of each go in with that to be safe or give the shop your going to buy in a call

Actually 3 have a process where someone does query your bank info, im not sure to what degree.

you only need 1 ID and 1 proof of address, 3 are the most strict network in this regard also.

If your moving bill pay networks you need your most recent network bill also if your not using this as a proof of address

Never seen anybody to get hit with a deposit on best of both, don't worry about it you should be fine.

That went a lot easier than I thought....

Only asked for one form of ID and one bill, not two.

Then asked me how long I was in my current house, how long I was in my current job and how long I was with my Bank.

I was honest, obviously, but they did not seek any form of proof, anyone could walk in, lie and walk out with a phone / contract.

But you all were right, they don't do an actual credit check, otherwise I would have been escorted out of the shop (even though I'm good for it now)

Seems to be a bit random...

It's the same on all networks. They credit score you using their own scoring system
