I have a significant amount of UK Shares/Dividends I want to cash in.

I will pay tax on them in the UK - but what I want to know - when I bring the cash back into Ireland - with I have to pay any sort of Tax when I lodge the cash into my Irish account.

Any help with this one is appreciated?

Even if these are Uk shares, if you live in Ireland you are required to pay CGT tax @ 25%.

If you live in the Uk and intent on moving to Ireland then pay their capital gains tax rate (18 or 28% i think now) then transfer the money when you move to Ireland at no cost.

It looks to me that you are an Irish resident trying to pay CGT in the UK because they are UK shares. Pay your CGT in Ireland if so.
