Travel on Dart

    Hi,

Hope people out there can shed some light on this. Didnt know where else to post this. My son recently got a €100 fine for having an invalid ticket for travel on dart.

He was served a notice by inspector which says to pay within 21 days. He never told me about it so I rang iarnrod eireann who said that he will either get a reminder in the post to pay within 10 days or he will get a court summons (as it is over 21 days since he got the notice. They said they can't say which as there is a back log at present. Now I dont get paid till the end of the month so would be terrified he'll get a court summons before then. He is disabled so can't work anymore so wouldnt have the money to pay. Obviously I will pay but can't till the end of the month.

What i need to know is legally does iarnrod eireann have to send a reminder out in the post before a court summons?? Has anyone had a similar experience. Thanks very much in advance.
