River Robe

    Anybody fish the Robe? Any one got any tips for it? What types of flies? any good areas? ive been fishin it in a little Village of Crossboyne. have picked up a few fish, but they where all very small 4in- 10in.

    The robe is a major nursery river for lough mask....a considerable amount of trout in mask are born in the robe....so a lot of the trout in the robe migrate downstream into mask where food is better and more plentiful...therefore the majority of the trout in the river are 1 year old small young fish when they get bigger most go to mask.

    oh right didnt no the majority of them would migrate to lake. so is there much chance of gettin anything over a pound and a half in weight on the robe?

    yes there might be...some trout will stay longer than 1 year in the river and they will grow somewhat bigger...
