Emulsion's water soluble, isn't it? Might it just shampoo out?

I'm just joking with you. I had some funny stains on the passenger seat of my first car, and they certainly weren't emulsion paint - if you know what I mean ;);)

As Anan1 said, Emulsion should be water soluble and will probably come out with an upholstery shampoo.

If it's gloss then it's going to take a lot more than water and soap. Wouldn't know what to use there without wrecking the seats.

emulsion is definitely water soluble. if it doesn't come off easy then as suggested a bit of spirits, or even petrol if you want, will get it off. I'd get the owner to do it IIWY

Best to remove dried emulsion on seat is methalated spirits as it dissolves the paint, then warm soapy water to finish. white spirit or just water are useless...........
