Customised Monopoly?

    Hey,
    Does anyone know the best way to customise a monopoly board? I know there's stuff like make-your-own-opoly but it looks a bit ****e.

    A person really close to me is leaving in 2 months and I want to do something special for her. I had a look at mymonopoly.co.uk and it's a bit pricey at £70 but I suppose it wouldn't be too bad.

    Any help much appreciated

    Off topic but avoiding one copywright "monopoly" to sell merchandise with other copywrighted material on it seems odd (e.g Dr. Who etc). Surely it's still probably illegal?

    depending on how much time money and effort you can put in to it - there are a lot of things you can do.

    The best most professional finish your going to get is using a deep tray/wooden box perhaps somewhere between one and 3 inches. you place all the objects images and base you want in it in the required order.

    e.g. base grid first/ images / writting / momento's and use an epoxy resin to encase it. resin is really tricky to work with though and must be menouvered fast and set over night...

    It will turn out a bit heavy but it will endure and last for years. It will be soemthing if you can get it right will be a thing of beauty and a gift to be treasured.

    Not sure where you will get your hands on resin though at short notice.

    other less tricky option but not as pretty laminate your board or use a plastic photo frame - you know the ones with mdf backs and metal clips on the side?

    It's not too tricky to get, any place modelling shop (Specifically toy soldier places (Warhammer, prince august etc) should have it. They use it to add a water effect to scenery. (If I am thinking of the same stuff)
