I know which rifle i want and scope, but heres my problem, i dont want to spend €600 on a membership to midlands,im sorry first year membership or not thats ridiculous.

Its my understanding that you can get a licence for a .308 if you have land to shoot deer on and a deer licence, but how do you get a deer licence considering you have to have a firearm already??

Can someone please clear this up for me??

You do not NEED a firearm, but you must supply a firearms details on the application.

Get out knocking on doors, for shooting bunnies/foxes first, then casually mention deer ;)

    Newby,
Have you no-one in the family with a farm?

I would not hesitate to go up to a farmer and ask. You haven't much to lose at all.

If you strike out with one, ask the farmer if he knows anyone that needs your help.

You won't be too long until you find someone.

As others have stated: the 22 is for the bunnies eating crops, the 223 is for the foxes eating the chickens, and the 308 is for the deer eating the bunnies and foxes. Just kidding...

As Tackleberrywho stated: you'll need to suss out what firearm you want. Get the numbers and apply for the license and state you will be culling deer. You will need the rights to the land that has deer. You won't get away with just any farm. Then get the deer license.

    Something like that...

Ring the local IFA and see if any of their members have problems with rabbits. Then try and see if there land is on ground with deer on it.

You will be surprised how one farm permission can turn into many over time.

Ask your permissions have they any mates who need bunnies culled. It's that easy!

Don't overlook the mounts! The best rifle and scope are useless without good mounts. An average scope with good mounts is better then average mounts with an expensive scope.
