Match is on Sky Sports 2 at 08.35am.

Teams not announced yet but Paddy Power are leaving themselves open for another beating in my opinion. They are offering odds of 10/11 on New Zealand by more than 8 and I saw nothing in the Boks last Saturday that makes me think that they are not ripe for the taking again this Saturday. Looking forward to it. :D

The All Blacks are waiting to see how Rokococo, Kahui and Cowan come through their injury problems according to this report on scrum.com http://www.scrum.com/trinations2010/rugby/story/119387.html but they have plenty of talent such as Zac Guilford to call on.

No but I saw plenty in the 3 beatings SA gave them last year to suggest this is far from a done deal. They have a better record in Welly but I think the forecast is for rain which will suit the AB's pack. PDV is a nutter but I think he's done the right thing in making only 2 changes, thet'll be out for blood.

The older more experience side still. Will be in front of the tv bright and early and probably still drunk from the night before to wake up the flat with my cheering. (again)

May be a bit biased.... :) but I think the Saffas were alot more together in the second half last week and yet the AB's managed to still hold them at bay and role in tries.

    C'mon the blacks!!!!

Big oppurtunity for Ranger. I presume he was picked over Guildford to handle De Villiers defensively.Steyn would have pestered him with high kicks to the corner all day. It will be interesting to see how Ranger gets on following his fine Super14 form.

SA will be in this game if they up their physicality and match the ABs at the breakdown, if they sharpen up their set pieces, and if they sharpen up their kick-chase game.

For me thats a lot of ifs, so I see ABs making it 2 from 2.

Cant see the boks changing their gameplan, they have been playing this way for too long, and I dont think they have a plan B.

First cap against the Saffers in Wellington in the rain? What does Hosea Gear need to do to get a game. I thought Guilford was excellent on the autumn tour. More of the "just pick Auckland/Cantebury players regardless" mentality me thinks.

    Weepu/Januarie will be painful watching.

Not as painful as Cowan/Januarie!! This is Rangers 2nd cap isnt it?

More so I fear. Cowan is a wanker but he's developed into a fine scrum half. Januarie seems to aim his passes behind the receivers head and paint drys faster then Weepu moves.

Yet again, I can't believe Gear was left out.

Ranger looked good in the super 14, it'll be interesting to see how he makes the step up to test level. I hope he does the business. Van Der Linde in for Du Plessis is not gonna strenghten the Boks scrum at all, think he's past his best. Good to see Roussouw getting a well deserved start, even with a fit Bakkies Botha Roussouw has been in much better form, seems you have to be a favourite of PDV to get into the Boks startin lineup dese days

Yeah, I think Cowan has come on a lot but I think Weepu has a lot to offer and he has plenty of experience and Januarie is not going to enjoy his attentions. The boys are going to eat the Boks. :D

Slight change at PP and they are now offering 10/11 on NZ by more than 7 - easy money again and perhaps Nonu and Corey Jane to score tries.

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 13,549 ✭✭✭✭Judgement Day

Springboks look all washed up at 13-0. Two great All Blacks tries - Weepu playing a blinder. Carter has only managed 1 from 4 kicks so far.

Dan Carter misses another penalty but AB's lead 13-7 at halftime.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 41 chimchimney

NZ winning the breakdown and playing some good heads-up rugby.

Pienaar should be brought on asap for the boks

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 13,549 ✭✭✭✭Judgement Day

CJ Van de Linde off injured - there's a surprise then. 13-10 as Boks get a penalty.

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 13,549 ✭✭✭✭Judgement Day

Ranger in for his first try for AB's. Carter misses conversion 18-10 to AB's.

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 13,549 ✭✭✭✭Judgement Day

21-10 - Weepu takes over kicking duties and get his penalty.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 41 chimchimney

surprised to see roussouw come off, maybe he picked up a knock

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 40,972 ✭✭✭✭Xavi6

    What a try that was

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 13,549 ✭✭✭✭Judgement Day

Israel Dagg just on and gets in for a great try leaving Boks defence grasping at air! Carter gets conversion 28-10.:D

    Carter another penalty 31-10.

THE BOYS ARE BLACK IN TOWN!!

Burger in for try for the Boks and Steyn converts 31-17 to AB's.

All over 31-17. Bye bye World Champions. Yipeeeee!!!!!!

Well done JD you called it early in the week.

Really dissapointed with Rolland, probably the worst performance of his career. McCaw 7 penalties and two warnings yet no card. Hopefully Januarie injures himself in training.

Great (and satisfying) game to watch - thought Weepu looked vastly superior to Cowan and despite all the crap talked about his weight he is some mover. What about Man of the Match - was it Richie MacCaw - should have been as he was epic, plays on the edge and a bit more? :D

Lol he should have gotten 2 yellow cards, game was ruined by the early yellow but NZ were much better regardless.

Richie was my MoM anyway - himself and Alan Quinlan came out of the same mould. :D

It was funny watching him and Januarie at the scrums. Can't think of any fatter scrumhalves in the world. Great game from him and he doesn't waddle around the pitch like Januarie.

Was surprised with Cowan coming on, what exactly was the point? SA were far better when Pienaar came on and all he did was distribute the ball quicker. I dont think there's much between the two teams to be honest. Henry is not a great coach by any stretch of the imagination but PDV is a nut. It'll be interetsing to see how Oz go next week, if they can sort out their set piece they can beat the battered Bok's. George Clancy is in charge next week I think, can't do any worse then his fellow Irishmen.

Did anyone else pick up on the one eyed kiwi commentator referring to the linesmen as "UK" What part of Australia are you from digger?

Some of the South African selections are crazy alright. Hougaad and Pienaar should have started. With Smith and Du Plessis back the pack should be a bit harder for their next match.

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 13,549 ✭✭✭✭Judgement Day

I fancy this battered Boks outfit to take Australia but either way it shouldn't do the All Blacks Tri-Nations campaign any harm. Just a feeling and needless to say I will be rooting for the Aussies, especially my man James O'Connor who needs a big game soon or he will be joining Jonno, Rog and Bod in the Pyjama Club. :D

I was looking for a pic of my new ABs hero and couldn't resist this 'cheeky' one.

How in God's name did Mc Caw evade a yellow card. He is unreal at playing the game right on the edge and always getting away with it. It's incredible. Softest yellow I have ever seen in the first half.

John Smith is starting to show the years alright, and Louw hasn't hard the desired effect. Chillieboy on the bench instead of Du Plesis is like comparing buckfast to moet.

De Villiers seems to be the only person in the world who rates him. He's probably played for South Africa almost as many times as his province.

JDV has been cited for a dangerous tackle. link

Must have missed this during the match. Was it bad?

It was a spear. Not the worst as he barely lifted him off the ground but he still went past the horizontal.

Because PDV is an idiot who couldn't manage a proverbial......in a brewery? JDV was the only BOKS player on the field I felt sorry for but he'll be back with Munster soon. :D

I dont care about the SA players personally I just dont like seeing such a talented pool of players mismanaged like that.

doesnt mean hes better there than other current saffa players.

hes clearly a 13 and offers more when he gets his hands on the ball frequently.

delighted rene ranger had a good game. also weepu was fantastic. its a pity TOL and reddan dont play like him. although that may change this season as the trend now seems to be counter attacking with ball in hand. which im delighted with. no more useless box kicks giving away posession.

on the mcCaw playing on the fridges point, i think some refs are now so used to him playing like that it would take something very unexpected to have him sent off. relative to other prominent 7 his playing style is borderline, but when taken in the "Only McCaw Universe" he played another game as normal. personally, i like an abrasive 7.

JDV's early career was as a wing but surely it was an Inside Centre that he made his reputation? Now he looks like he is really uncomfortable on the wing. Hopefully he will, as he has said, come back to Munster - once the disappointment of the 2011 World Cup is behind him. :D
