Broken "pull-string" on wooden Venetian Blinds

    Hi guys,

Just wondering if anyone may be able to guide me. After a search on boards, then on e-bay and on google in general, I couldn't come up with anything!

My problem is as follows - we have wooden (horizontal) venetian blinds in all the rooms at home. However, the pully string bit (pretty much 3/4's of the length of the entire blind and both strings have wooden bits at the end of them!) has broken. This happened in the spare room and while I investigated, I never bothered doing anything about it...until now, as the one in the sitting room is broken!
I took down the one in the spare room a year ago or more to check out the problem and basically the problem is that there is a plastic piece that the string sits into and pulls around, that has crumbled and broken - I guess from lots of use.

Question therefore is - can you get just the replacement strings + contraption and if anyone knows, I'd appreciate your input. Like alot of these things, sometimes these simple solutions are not available and you have to get an entirely new blind, which would be sin given the blinds are perfect (plus could do without splashing out!).

Thanks a mill in advance guys.

I think your best bet would be to phone a blinds company and ask. They might be able to repair it for you.
