Turning 17 next week and I'm having a party thats like a bbq and movie and stuff with a few friends, but I find throwing parties really stressful because I'm really worried people will be bored and loads of people seem to be on holidays/are lying and just don't want to come. How many people is enough and how do I make it good with no drink (my parents are around) :)

If the weather permits a bouncey castle tends to go down well for all ages!

How many is enough? Invite your close friends who you want there, don't feel obliged to invite everyone you know. Too big a gang can get messy and stressful. You can have a great night with 3 people if they al get on well!
