Specializing and recruitment

We're all familiar with the job descriptions on recruitment sites, adverts and agencies. Bland shall we say, non-descript is another word that springs to mind.

Once I've finished my MSc I'll have specilaized in one area - it's useful to finance houses amoungst others, but how to market myself? I guess networking is one way, linkedin has obvious advantages on researching who you need to talk to but does anybody know of really good sites for specialist roles? Not the usual bland descriptions.

Perhaps one where you can put up an online resume and people can browse to you, which I guess would be more head-hunting than recruitment. Really I want to do some research on the job market and particularly how to get myself a job.
