Im a mature student,24, looking to get into primary teaching. Im repeating 3 subjects from my leaving cert this year and gona be applying for next september. I've worked with kids for over 7 years, day in,day out. and in schools doing sports coaching. I'm just a bit worried that i'l be knocked back in interview and oral irish?! does anyone know how many places there are for mature students in Pats, Frobel and Colaiste Mhuire?

I know i'l have to put a huge effort in for interview and oral irish but just interested to know if theres a decent chance of actually getting in?

Any help would be much appreciated,

you are right about the effort but dont be phased, there are places put by for mature students and why wouldn't you get in.. be positive, work hard on the irish. I'd say with the coaching you've a brilliant chance. i was in your shoes last year and am startin in Mary I this Sept - if funds permit...try not to put too much emphasis on how comeptitive everyone says it is...(it is) just keep focused on your application and forget about what everyone else does. Be confident and good luck.
