Trouble sourcing part for Pajero Junior (Jap Import)

Hi folks! Still a bit of a newbie here but thought somebody on here may be able to point me in the right direction.....

I recently bought a 1996 Mitsubishi Pajero Junior. Its a 1.1 litre petrol engine with a manual gearbox.

Unfortunately, the gearbox is giving trouble (Hard to select gears....and getting worse!). It's not the clutch, so I had a mechanic look at it and he has said that she basically needs a new gearbox.

Trouble is, the manual gearbox version is quite rare. Most of the Pajero Juniors imported in Ireland seem to have auto boxes.

So my question is, does anybody have any idea where I may be able to source a new/secondhand/ or even a reconditioned gearbox for my Pajero Junior?

Or would it be worth my while looking into getting the gearbox taken apart and repaired? Sounds like that option would be pricey though.....

Any help or information greatly appreciated!
