Got my Theory Test, now what?

Ok, just got my theory test second time round (39/40). I was told it is valid for 2 full years from date of passing the test.

Are the two years meaning I have two years to apply for my full licence or my provisional? I know I've to do an eye test, but that won't be any hassle.

Should I just get the eye test done ASAP, and apply for my provisional ASAP? I'm 17 now, 18 in 2 weeks, and doing my leaving this year coming.

    Thanks in advance.

The cert you now have is valid for two years to obtain the learner permit. After that you have to resit the theory test to get another cert to apply for the learner permit. It has nothing to do with applying for, or eligibility for, a full licence.

My advice is get your eyesight test done, get your passport photos and apply for the learner permit as soon as you can. Then aim to be able to sit the full test in 6 months from when you are issued your learner permit (you have to wait 6 months minimum).

Delaying on these things only hurts you, financially and practically. Take it from someone who knows (I'm 28 and only got my learner permit recently). I wish I'd started learniong at your age and got my full license relatively quickly.

    Thanks for the advice.

I'm hoping to apply for the permit in about 2 weeks when I'm finished a project I have going and have a bit more free-time.

    Cheers
