The cup when melted down wouldnt be worth more than a couple of hundred quid. Barely worth the effort

Ive held the chelthenham gold cup which Kicking King won and it aint solid gold.
The guy that makes the trophy every year has stated that the cup is only of sentimental value more than monetary value and in an interview which i cant find the link to stated that the cup when melted down wouldnt be worth more than a couple of hundred quid. He also stated that the owner had more valuable trophies on display which were also taken.

that was a quote i lifted ,but the cost of the trophy is 10 grand

if you go to h samuels and buy yourself a bling chain for 2 grand ,when you melt it down you would only get a couple of hundred also but they are still charging you 2 k
like the maker of the gold cup is still charging 10 grand to make another

so the gold cup is worth 10 grand

always a pleasure to see him accepting a trophy cause they knew how to celebrate and were always courtious to everyone

He hired 21 club after the Gold cup win and left the cup behind. Came back for it and walked out with it in a Tesco bag!!
