Looking to improve my Satellite set-up

    Hi,

I'm hoping for some advice on my current set-up as I'm looking to see if I can get any better value out of what I have.
I'm not too well up on most of the jargon so go easy on me but I'm a fast learner.

Here's what I have at the moment.

    • I have a sky dish aimed at Freesat 23.5.
    • Sky Quad LNB.
    • Sagem HD DS186 receiving the Freesat and FTA on 28.2E..
    • Currently on UPC and will be cancelling to go to sky. I'll be using the Freesat dish and LNB for SKY.
    • 80cm dish aimed at 19.2 east and 23.5E.
    • Globo 6 degree Monoblock 0.2db.
    • Silvercrest (Lidl) SL 65/12 receiver.
I'm looking to upgrade the Silvercrest, possibly to a card reader although I'm not up on what type of card or receiver would be best. I have heard that Technomate are pretty good.

I already have the Polish channels on FTA set up but I'm hoping to receive more Polish channels such as the CYFRA+ but I'm not sure what cards will provide me with them so if anybody knows where I could legitimately buy one in Ireland or on-line, I'd be grateful.

I'd also like to know what is the difference, in lay-mans terms, between cards CAm's and Programmers and which would be the best for Polish TV if possible.

I have seen offers for CYFRA+ cards on Ebay in the region of €100-120 but I'm not too sure about the back-up so would be fine paying what's required to have the proper set up.

    Any help is appreciated.

www.satsklep.pl is the place to get your Cyfra+ sub. No messing and you'll have the back up if you need it. Also you'll be buying it at face value and not through a 3rd party dealer!
